The Bears are looking forward to the 1997 season with high hopes. After finishing the 1996 season with a 2-5 record, they know they have their work cut out to return to the glory years of the last decade. Long time fans know the Bears made a good showing despite their win-loss record scoring a total of 87 points and giving up only 130.
Augmenting the returning Bear's team are last year's standouts from the Red and White Cubs. All returning players will no doubt find some capable teammates in the walk-on players expected to register later this month.
This year's registration will be held for football players and cheerleaders Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday June 11, 12 and 13, 1997 at Butler Hall in New Hartford. Registration is mandatory for all players; additional details can be found on the Bear's Registration Page.
Coach Nevits is looking forward to getting the 1997 season underway. With the first practice still three months away, the coach is already busy preparing for the upcoming season. In a recent interview, the coach expressed extreme optimism about the Bear's chances for a winning season and appeared keen to get the season underway.
