1999 Punt, Pass and Kick Competition

The Tri-County Central Pop Warner Football Conference held its Sixth Annual Punt, Pass and Kick Competition on Sunday, August 28, 1999 in New Hartford, N.Y. Eighty four awards were passed out as 11 of 21 event records and 5 of 7 Punt Pass and Kick records were broken.

The event was held in preparation for the upcoming Gator Aid Punt, Pass and Kick Competition to be held on Saturday Sept. 25, 1999 at 11:00 AM. (contact Jerry McQueary, 797-2325, for details). Tri-County Central Conference conducts this competition each year to prepare their players for this main event. Encompassing 16 different communities in the Mohawk Valley, the Tri-County Central Conference has thirty nine tackle and twenty six flag football teams. The competition is held for seven different age divisions ranging from eight to fourteen years of age.

Ribbons are awarded to the first, second and third place finishers in each age and event class for a total of sixty-three awards. Individual event scores are combined to determine overall winners in each age class. Twenty one trophies were awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each of the seven age groups.

Shawn McQueary became the first participate to hold the overall Punt pass and Kick record in two different years, while Justin and Thomas Manning became the first set of brothers to win the overall Punt Pass and Kick competition in the same year.
