Bear game captains Stephan Bieganowski, Michael Kelly, Erick Verbickas and Matthew Tyoe lost the coin toss but the Bears started the game on offense when the West Canada Indians elected to defer. The Red Offense had Reggie German, Matthew Maggio, Andrew Plante, Dylan Hoffman, Erick Verbickas, Matthew Tyoe and Chandler Evans-Andrew Roemer on the line. Michael Kelly, John Boyle, Stephan Bieganowski and Michael Donaruma were in the backfield. This unit executed a flawless 10-play drive with John Boyle scoring on a pass from Michael Kelly. The extra point unit had Chandler Evans & Andrew Roemer at the ends, David Pardi & Matthew Tyoe at the tackles, Dominick Masi & Erick Verbickas at the guards and Michael Doyle as the snapper. John Boyle & Jake Snyder were the halfbacks, Michael Kelly was the holder and Stephan Bieganowski was the kicker. It was a good snap, the blocking was excellent but the kick was wide left and the Bears lead the Indians 6-0.
The Bear defense started with Jake Snyder, Chandler Evans, David Pardi, Eric Verbikas, and Andrew Roemer on the line. Stephan Bieganowski, Matt Tyoe and John Boyle were the linebackers and Michael Kelly, Sean Cannistra and Peter McGee were in the secondary. They held the Indians to 3 plays and a punt.
The white offense entered the game for the Bear's 2nd possession. Peter McGee, Robert Kane, Steve Kuhn, Colin Padron, Dominick Masi, Donald Cavoli, and Luke Manolescu were on the line. Michael Doyle, Sean Cannistra, Andrew Miller and Joey Desens were in the backfield. This unit ran 7 plays before giving up the ball deep in Indian Territory. The Bear defense again held the Indians to 3 plays and a punt.
Back on offense for a 3rd time the Bear red offense executed a 7-play drive with Andrew Roemer scoring on a pass from Michael Kelly. The kick for the extra point was low and the score remained 12-0. After the Indians 3rd possession was stopped, the Bear Blue backfield of Alex Grimmer, Christopher Tebsherany, Jake Snyder and Matthew Vasco entered the game. Brian Mathias and Brent Herring also entered to play on the line. The unit ran six plays before giving up the ball. After the Bear defense stopped the Indians for the 4th time, the White Offense returned to the field. Their 5th play was a beautiful touchdown pass from Michael Doyle to Luke Manolescu. The extra point kick was wide left and the Bears were ahead 18-0.
The Bear White defense of Luke Manolescu, Dominick Masi, Colin Padron -Trent Herring, Robert Kane-Brian Mathias, Donald Cavoli, Steve Kuhn, Chris Tebsherany, Andrew Miller, Alex Grimmer, Michael Doyle-Matthew Vasco and Joey Desens took the field. A pass to an Indian receiver followed by an exciting run was good for an Indian score as the half ended with the Bears in front 18-6.
Each team scored twice in an exciting 2nd half. West Canada score first, made the extra point and the score was a very close 18-13. The Bears then relentlessly marched the ball downfield. Jake Snyder carried the ball in from the 4-yard line for the TD and Peter McGee caught a Michael Kelly pass for the extra point to make the score 25-13. The Indians did not quit. Their QB completed his 3rd passing TD of the afternoon. The extra point was good and it was again a close 25-20 game. However, the Bear Red offense came right back with their own 12 play drive. John Boyle scored the TD, Michael Kelly hit Chris Tebsherany for the extra point and the bears were ahead 32-20. Sean Cannistra intercepted a pass on the next Indian possession and ended any hope the Indians might have had for a victory.
After the game the coaching staff congratulated the players for a well played game. Every member of the team was congratulated for the respect they showed to their teammates and coaches, not only at this game but also at every practice and game of the season. It was truly a wonderful season.

Due to horrible field conditions the West Utica Jaguar - New Hartford Bear game was transferred from the Notre Dame High School Field to the New Hartford High School Field. It was the beginning of a beautiful day for the Bears. Bear game captains Stephan Bieganowski, Michael Kelly, Erick Verbickas and Justin Smith won the coin toss and the Bears elected to start the game on offense.
Justin Smith, Matthew Maggio, Andrew Plante, Dylan Hoffman, Erick Verbickas, Matthew Tyoe and Chandler Evans-Andrew Roemer were on the line. Michael Kelly, John Boyle, Stephan Bieganowski and Michael Donaruma were in the backfield. This unit executed flawlessly as Bieganowski and Boyle moved the ball down field. Matt Tyoe and Andrew Roemer then opened a monstrous hole as Boyle scored the 1st td of the game behind a fine lead block by Bieganowski.
The extra point unit had Chandler Evans, David Pardi, Dominick Masi, Justin Smith, Erick Verbickas, Matthew Tyoe, and Andy Roemer on the line. John Boyle and Jake Snyder were the halfbacks, Michael Kelly was the holder and Stephan Bieganowski was the kicker. Apparently the snapper thought the team was punting. The ball was snapped to the kicker rather than the holder and the score remained 6-0.

Stephan Bieganowski, Matt Tyoe and John Boyle were the linebackers and Michael Kelly, Justin Smith and Peter McGee were in the secondary. They held the Jaguars to 3 plays and a punt.
On their 2nd possession the Bears moved the ball into Jaguar territory where they fumbled and lost the ball. The Jaguar's took advantage of the situation and scored on a 55 yard run around the Bear's left defensive end. The extra point attempt was stuffed and the score remained 6-6.
Back on offense for a 3rd time the bears struck quickly as Michael Kelly hit Chandler Evans on a short pass play. Chandler then raced 65-yards down field for a Bear TD. John Boyle scored the extra point on an off tackle play and the Bears were ahead 13-6. The rest of the 1st half was a defensive struggle with the Bears coming out on top. On one series Matthew Tyoe blocked a punt and on another Andrew Roemer sacked the QB for a safety. The half ended with the Bears leading 15-6.
John Boyle intercepted a pass to stop the next Jaguar offensive threat. Peter McGee, Andrew Schmidt, Trent Herring, Brian Mathias, Douglas McCormick, David Pardi and Luke Manolescu entered the game to play on the line and Michael Doyle, Chris Tebsherany, Andrew Miller and Matthew Vasco moved into the backfield. This unit marched downfield until Andrew Miller scored on a dive through the left side of the line. The extra point attempt failed and the Bears moved in front 19-6.
The Bears scored one more time as Reggie German, Donald Cavoli, Stephen Kuhn, Colin Padron, Dominick Masi, David Pardi and Luke Manolescu played line and Alex Grimmer, Sean Cannistra, Jake Snyder and Joey Desens played in the backfield. Joey Desens had an electrifying run that covered 62 yards and gained 21. After several strong runs, Sean Cannistra powered the ball in for the TD. The extra point attempt failed and the Bears were ahead 27-6.
The Jaguars scored on their next possession made the extra point and the game ended with Bears ahead 27-13. After the game the coaching staff congratulated the players for a well played game and reminded them that we have one game left. It is the most important game of the season. Let's continue to work hard at practice and prepare for this game with a lot of effort and enthusiasm. We want to finish this season on a positive note.

The Clinton Warriors defeated the New Hartford Bears 32-12 on a cold rainy day and a sloppy muddy field. The Warrior's conference record is now 4-1 and puts them in a tie for 1st place with Whitestown and East Utica. The Bears are 3-2 in the conference and in 4th place.
Game captains, Sean Cannistra, Joey Desens, David Pardi and Reggie German won the coin toss and the Bears started the game on offense. Justin Smith, Matt Maggio, Andrew Plante-Dominick Masi, Dylan Hoffman, Eric Verbickas, Matt Tyoe and Chandler Evans started on the offensive line. Michael Kelly, John Boyle, Stephan Bieganowski and Michael Donaruma started in the backfield. Luke Manolescu, Donald Cavoli, Robert Kane, Andrew Schmidt, Steve Kuhn, Chris O'Neil, and Alex Grimmer were the offensive replacements. The Bears drove for one 1st down but then were forced to punt.
The punting unit had Chandler Evans and Stephan Bieganowski as the wide outs. Alex Grimmer, Michael Doyle, Justin Smith, Andrew Plante and Matthew Tyoe were on the line. John Boyle, Michael Kelly and Jake Snyder were in the backfield to protect the punter, Erick Verbickas. The unit worked to perfection as Verbickas punted the ball deep into Clinton Warrior territory.

The Bears then executed a beautiful touchdown drive. Stephan Bieganowski carried the ball in on the 12th play. The extra point pass attempt failed and the Bears lead 6-0. However, on the next possession the Warrior's drove the length of the field to tie the score 6-6. The rest of the first half was scoreless as the Bears did a very good job of keeping the ball in the Warrior end of the field.
The second half was a completely different story. Clinton started on offense and drove the field for a score and a 12-6 lead. They then forced a Bear fumble, scored another TD and extra point to take a commanding 19-6 lead. The Bears then showed a spark of life when Chandler Evans caught a short pass from Michael Kelly and scampered 65-yards for a touchdown. The Bear extra point kicking unit did an excellent job of protecting the kicker. However, the kick was wide left and the Warriors were ahead 19-12. The Bears were unable to mount another scoring drive as the Warriors scored two unanswered touchdowns to make the final score 32-12.
After the game the coaching staff told a wet, freezing, muddy group of players to hold their heads up high. Everyone did his best in terrible playing conditions. No one quit. This just wasn't our day. We still have two more games to play. Let's continue to work hard at practice and prepare for those games with a lot of effort and enthusiasm. We want to finish this season on a positive note.

When the East Utica Panthers won the opening flip they elected to defer their choice until the second half. Bear game captains Dylan Hoffman, Andrew Plante, Dominick Masi and Matthew Maggio chose offense. The starting offense had Justin Smith, Matt Maggio, Andrew Plante-Dominick Masi, Dylan Hoffman, Eric Verbickas, Matt Tyoe and Andrew Roemer-Chandler Evans on the line and Michael Kelly, John Boyle, Stephen Bieganowski and Michael Donaruma in the backfield. Luke Manolescu, Donald Cavoli, Trent Herring, Robert Kane, Reggie German, Chris O'Neil, Joey Desens and Alex Grimmer were the offensive replacements.
Seven plays later the Bears were forced to punt. Chandler Evans and Stephen Bieganowski were the wide outs. Alex Grimmer, Michael Doyle, Justin Smith, Eric Verbickas and Matt Tyoe were on the interior line. John Boyle protected the left side while Michael Kelly and Jake Snyder protected the right side. Andrew Roemer punted the ball to the Panther 45-yard line.

It was three plays and a punt for the Panthers.
The second Bear possession lasted 9 plays. It featured a pass from Kelly to Smith and ended abruptly when the 2 back fumbled and lost the ball. Again it was 3 plays and a punt for the Panthers. The Bears 3rd possession ended when the Panthers picked off Michael Kelly's pass attempt to Andrew Roemer. Andrew Roemer then recovered a Panther fumble. The Bears 4th possession ended when the ball was stolen from the 4 back. The Bears were not to be denied on their 5th possession as Michael Kelly passed to Michael Donaruma in the end zone with six seconds on the clock. Justin Smith then intercepted a Panther desperation pass as the half ended with the Bears ahead 6-0.
The Panthers started the second half on offense. It was 3 plays and a punt. The Bear defensive line put a lot of pressure on the punter as Michael Kelly caught the punt and returned it about 50 yards for a touchdown. The Bear defense continued to dominate the game as Michael Kelly intercepted a pass to end the next Panther possession. The Bears could not score again as they fumbled and lost the ball two more times. The game ended with the score 12-0.
After the game the coaching staff stated "The defense certainly did an excellent job again today. However, the offense had too many turnovers. We have a very strong opponent coming up this weekend. We must work hard at practice this week to eliminate the turnovers. We must win the battle of turnovers if we are to win the game."

A stubborn North Utica Raider defense held the 1st two plays to three yards. The receiver dropped A 3rd down pass and the Bears were forced to punt. Andrew Roemer's punt was a beauty. It traveled 50 yards and the Raiders took over on their own 12-yard line. The Bear defense had Jake Snyder, Erick Verbickas, David Pardi, Chandler Evans and Sean Cunningham on the line. John Boyle, Steven Bieganowski, and Michael Doyle were the linebackers and Michael Kelly, Justin Smith and Peter McGee were in the secondary. After three plays Matthew Tyoe blocked the Raider's punt attempt but the Bear offensive unit could not take advantage of the situation. Two running plays yielded 1 yard. A pass attempt was then dropped and the receiver ran the wrong pattern on the 4th play. The Bear defense again played tough holding the Raiders to 3 plays and a punt. The Bears 3rd possession was also very short. They fumbled and lost the ball on the 3rd play as they tried to run off tackle.
The Bear defense continued to dominate. Mike Doyle blocked the Raider punt attempt and the Bears started their 4th possession on the Raider 8-yard line. Two plays later Sean Cunningham score the first TD of the game. Mike Kelly ran in the extra point and the Bears were ahead 7-0. On the next play defensive tackle Chandler Evans picked up a Raider fumble and ran 35 yards for a TD. Michael Donaruma ran in the extra point and the score was 14-0. That was the score at half time as Michael Kelly make an excellent pass interception to end the Raiders next possession.
The Raiders started the 2nd half on offense. Stephen Kuhn alertly intercepted a pass and advanced it 20 yards to the Raider 16-yard line. Michael Donaruma then ran the ball in for the 3rd TD of the game. The extra point unit of Evans, Grimmer, Doyle, Smith, Verbickas, Tyoe, Roemer, Boyle, Bieganowski, Kelly executed to perfection as Cunningham kicked the extra point to make the score 22-0.
Both teams played excellent defense for the remainder of the game. Joey Desens scored the last TD of the game on a 3-yard plunge through the line. Joey had run beautiful 36-yard punt return on the play before the score. The game ended with the score 28-0.
After the game the coaching staff stated "The defense certainly did an excellent job today. However, the offense struggled. We still have some very strong opponents to play. We must continue working hard at practice sessions to improve our play and to meet the challenge."

The Whitestown Warriors trounced the New Hartford Bears 26-6. The Warriors performed well on both sides of the ball as they jumped out to a 20-0 lead. The Bears only score came against the Warrior's second unit.
After the game the coaching staff stated "A team that makes as many offensive and defensive mistakes as the Bears did today can not expect to beat a good team. We must step our practice sessions up a notch or two. We have several tough games left and we definitely need to improve."

Game captains, Eric Verbickas, Matt Tyoe, Andrew Roemer and Chandler Evans lead the Bears to a victory over the Central New York Giants. The Bears did a great job on both sides of the ball. The starting defense had Sean Cunningham, Erick Verbickas, Matt Tyoe, Chandler Evans and Jake Snyder on the line, John Boyle, Steven Bieganowski, and Michael Donaruma at the linebackers and Alex Grimmer, Michael Doyle and Michael Kelly in the secondary. Colin Padron, Douglas McCormick, Steve Kuhn, Chris Tebsherany, Andrew Miller, Matt Vasco, Joey Desens and Sean Cannistra were the defensive replacements.

Sean Cunningham swept the end for the first score of the game. The extra point pass from Kelly to Roemer was good and the Bears lead 7-0. Cunningham also scored the second touchdown as he turned a 1-yard dive for a first down into a 41-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt failed and the Bears lead 13-0. The defense scored the third touchdown as Mike Kelly returned a punted 37-yards for the score. Steven Bieganowski ran for the extra point and the Bears were ahead 20-0. The Giants scored the next touchdown as the first half ended with the score 20-6.
The Bears scored the first touchdown of the second half on a 37-yard run by Michael Donaruma. Sean Cunningham kicked the extra point to make the score 28-6. After the Giants scored their second touchdown making the score 28-12, Joey Desens scored the final touchdown of the game as it ended with the score 34-12.
After the game the coaching staff stated "It's nice to start the season with two wins; however, It is a long season and we will play much stronger opponents. We must continue working hard at practice sessions to improve our play and have a successful season."

The New Hartford Bears posted a 32-12 victory over a courageous but over matched Herkimer Hornet team. Bears Game captains Sean Cunningham, Brian Boyle, Eric Verbickas and Matthew Tyoe lost the opening toss and the Bears started the game on defense. Eric Verbickas, Matt Tyoe, Chandler Evans, Jake Synder, and Cunningham were on the line. Steven Bieganowski, John Boyle and Michael Donaruma were the linebackers and Alex Grimmer, Michael Kelly and Peter McGee were playing in the secondary. It was 3 yards and a punt for the Herkimer Hornets.

The Herkimer Hornets returned to offense for a second time. They could not move the ball as the Bear defense bolstered by defensive replacements Sean Cannistra, Andrew Miller, Matt Vasco, Joey Desens, Steve Kuhn, Douglas McCormick, Colin Padron and Andrew Schmidt did an excellent job. The Hornets were forced to give up the ball.
With the help of offensive replacements Luke Manolesco, Steve Pardi, Donald Cavoli, Trent Herring, Brian Mathias, Robert Kane, Reggie German and Chris O'Neil the Bears scored on their next two possessions. Alex Grimmer scored on a run through the line and Chris O'Neil score on a beautiful pass from Michael Doyle and the score was 19-0. Not to be denied, the Hornets scored on a long touchdown run as the half-ended with the score 19-6.
In the third quarter Michael Kelly scored on a run around the end and Matt Vasco scored the extra point to make the score 26-6. Late in the fourth quarter the Hornets scored again to make the score 26-12. Justin Smith then scored on the last play of the game to make the final score 32-12.
After the game the coaching staff stated "It is always nice to win your first game; however, It is a long season and we will play much stronger opponents. We must continue working hard at practice sessions to improve our play and have a successful season."
