Game captains Joey Carcone, Andrew Bushey, Nicholas Horth and Vinnie Servadio chose offense when the Colts won the opening toss and deferred. Matt Karam, Tyler Kallasy, Dan Duffy, Bryan Hoffman Jeff Cesare, Greg Shlotzhauer and Nicholas Horth were on the line. Vinnie Servadio, Thomas Giglio, Andrew Bushey and Joey Carcone were in the backfield. Matt Smith and Fred DelGenio were the messengers. On the second play of the game Shlotzhauer and Horth opened the hole, Bushey made an excellent lead block and Joey Carcone ran 63-yards for a touchdown. Horth tossed the high extra point snap to Carcone who ran around the right end for the extra point and the Bears were ahead 7-0.

The Bears defense had Matt Smith, Jimmy Carucci and Matt Karam in the secondary, Tyler Kallasy, Ben Toach, Bryan Hoffman, Jeff Ceaser and Greg Shlotzhauer on the line and Andrew Bushey, Joey Carcone and Nicholas Horth at the linebackers. This unit did an excellent job of shutting down the Colt offense. Near the end of the 2nd quarter, the Bears threatened to score again but were stopped by a movement penalty. The Colt's outstanding running back, Matt Casale, then intercepted a Bear pass and returned it for a touchdown. The extra point kick was good and the half time score was Colts 8 - Bears 7.

The Colts dominated the second half. The Bears could not score again as the Colts put two more scores on the board. The game ended with the score Colts 22 Bears 7.

After the game the Bear coaching staff told the players, "Today you were beaten by a very, very good team; however, keep your heads high, you had a great season. The Mt Markham team was a little older, a little bigger and just a little bit too strong for us. You played them tough. Everyone gave 100%. We can not ask for any more than that. The coaching staff is proud of each and every one of you and is already looking forward to next season."

New Hartford Bears @ Ilion Angels October 24, 2004

Game captains Joey Carcone, Andrew Bushey, Nicholas Horth and Vinnie Servadio won the opening toss and the Bears started the game on offense. This unit marched the ball down to the 12-yard line where Joey Carcone carried the ball in behind excellent trap blocking by Cesare, Shlotzhauer and Horth and an excellent lead block by Bushey. The extra point kick was wide left and the Bears were ahead 6-0.

It was 3 plays and a punt for the Angels. The Bears once again marched the ball downfield where a fine double team block by Hoffman and Cesare along with a great lead block by Horth allowed Matt Smith to blast in from the 8-yard line. The extra point kick was again wide left and the Bears were ahead 12-0.

After the Bear defense, with support from Fred DelGenio, shut the Angels down for the third time, Ryan Strassberger, Patrick Reilly, Zachary Champoux, Zachary Shipley, Marc Toczala, Ammar Kaashmiri and Daniel Mahaffy entered the game to play offensive line. Zachary Correnti, Joel Kamilow, Anthony Acevedo and Fred DelGenio entered the game to play in the backfield. This unit then alternated with the starting unit until Tom Giglio scored on a 35-yard touch down run as Shlotzhauer and Horth opened the hole at the point of attack. Carcone ran in the extra point and the Bears had a 19-0 lead as the first half ended.

The second half started with Shipley, Toczala, Champoux, Reilly and Strassberger on the defensive line and Acevedo, Kaashmiri, Joel Kamilow, Mahaffy, DelGenio and Zachary Correnti in the secondary. This unit with support from Duffy, Giglio and Servadio did a great job of making the Angels eat up the clock to start the second half. The Angels and Bears then traded third quarter scores with the Bear score coming on a 65-yard pass from Nicholas Horth to Joey Carcone. The third quarter ended with the score Bears 25 Angels 7.

Joey Carcone scored 13 points today to make him the Bears all time single season scoring leader with 120 points. He has scored 116 points as a running back and 4 points as a kicker. This puts him ahead of Shaun McQueary who scored 66 points as a running back and 47 as a kicker in 1999. Last week he surpassed the 90 point single season scoring record by a running back set by Andrew Gornick in 1998. Today's performance also put Joey ahead of the combined total of his brother Carmen who scored 72 points in 1986, his brother Tommy who scored 30 points in 1994 and his cousin Frank who scored 12 points in 1988. This has been a beautiful performance by a beautiful person.

Each team scored in the fourth quarter. The Ilion score came on a long march down the field as the Bear defense fought them every inch of the way. Tommy Giglio scored the last TD of the game on a very exciting run around the left end. He zigzagged around no less than five Angel defenders on his 35-yard run. Matt Smith scored the extra point behind an excellent lead block by Cesare and Bushey as the game ended with the score Bears 32- Angels 13.

After the game the Bear coaching staff told the players, "We played a good game both offensively and defensively and everyone had a lot of fun. However, next week we will be facing a much stronger opponent. We will play Mt Markham who we all know is a very formidable opponent. We must be ready for them. We must all dedicate ourselves to make the next three practices the most serious and committed practice sessions of the season."

The extra point was good when Karam made a circus catch of a pass from Carcone to make the score Bears 32 Panthers 18.
