The Tri-County Central Pop Warner Football Conference held its Fourth Annual Punt, Pass and Kick Competition on Sunday, August 24 in New Hartford. Over eighty awards were given out and four league records were broken.
The event was held in preparation for the upcoming Utica/Notre Dame Punt, Pass and Kick Competition to be held next month. For the fourth year, the Tri-County Central Conference has held the competition to prepare their players for the main event. Encompassing fourteen different communities in the Mohawk Valley, the Tri-County Central Conference has over thirty tackle football teams. This years competition was held for seven different age divisions ranging from eight to fourteen years old.
Ribbons were awarded to the first, second and third place finishers in each age and event class for a total of sixty-three awards. Individual event scores were combined to determine overall winners in each age class resulting in an additional trophies.
Originally scheduled to be held in Saquoit, the competition was moved to the home of the New Hartford Bears due to field maintenance problems in Saquoit.
